The Most Underrated Business Strategy: Listening to Your Body

Some of the best business decisions I’ve ever made didn’t come from a spreadsheet, they came from my gut. That’s the power of listening to your body in business.

I help clients reconnect with the wisdom that lives inside your body.

It’s not about being “woo” it’s about tapping into an intelligence that most high achievers have been trained to ignore.

When we still the mind, focus our attention on movement, breath, and sensation, something surprising happens: you stop reacting, and start responding from a place of deep clarity and groundedness.

And that can change everything.

An Underrated Leadership Tool: Listening to Your Body

You’ve heard of strategy sessions, KPI dashboards, and performance reviews.

But when was the last time you paused long enough to ask:

“What is my body telling me right now?”

For many of the founders, leaders, and change-makers I work with, the answer is: I have no idea.

Our culture rewards overthinking and constant doing.

But your body holds information your mind hasn’t caught up to yet.

Whether it’s the tension in your gut before entering a bad deal, the ease of a “hell yes,” or the tightness in your shoulders every time you say “yes” when you want to say “no.”

Alignment Starts With Embodiment

When you attune to the wisdom of your body through breath, movement, or stillness you access your truth.

From that grounded place, you can:

  • Hear your inner voice more clearly

  • Make braver, more aligned decisions

  • Stop outsourcing your worth to external expectations

It’s about both feeling more aligned and leading more effectively.

Simple Practices to Tune Into Your Body’s Wisdom

Here’s how embodiment work actually shows up in a business context:

  • Better boundary setting — You know instantly when something feels like a “no.”

  • Clearer communication — You speak from confident presence, not pressure.

  • Decision-making clarity — You stop second-guessing and start trusting yourself.

  • Resilience under pressure — You stay composed even when things go sideways.

These aren’t “soft” skills. They’re power skills. And they come from tuning in, not numbing out.

You don’t need an hour-long yoga session to access your body’s wisdom (although that will help) Here are a few simple ways to begin:

  • Pause before answering a big question. Ask: “What do I feel in my body right now?”

  • Take 3 deep breaths before any meeting - notice your focus shift, your body settle.

  • Move, walk, stretch, shake it off - to bring awareness back into your physical self.

  • Journal from your body’s perspective: “If my body could speak, it would say…”

Strategy Starts Inside
